Lucas Oil Offroad Series Rounds 5 & 6

Posted on June 4, 2015

Jeremy McGrath makes it 4 straight podiums in a row at round 5 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. The Loctite – Fuel Off Road - Maxxis Tires Pro 2 driven by Jeremy McGrath is convincingly in the championship hunt for the 2015 Season.  “This JM2 team has been working so hard all year. I am glad I can get another Podium for them and all my sponsors. I still feel like we have a lot left in us and will be winning races soon.” Jeremy explained to Rob Clapper of MAVTV after the event. When asked by Rob,” “What’s the difference this year?” Jeremy explained,” It takes a dedicated crew to do well in this sport. The team has to really Bond and Gel together to make it work. We have that in our shop, testing and at the racetrack. I am having a lot of fun as a team owner and driver this season! I look forward to more podiums and wins soon.”
Sunday round 6 started off great qualifying second just .15 seconds behind Bryce Menzies. Unfortunately the inversion would flip McGrath and Menzies from the front row to the third row. The start of the race was out of control in turn 1 with several trucks coming together and Jeremy getting shuffled back to the 10 position. After a few laps Jeremy had moved up to the 6th position and looked to be making up ground on the leaders.  A full course caution regrouped all the trucks and on the next green flag lap the # 99 of Robbie Woods drove straight into the back of McGrath spinning him out.  As a result McGrath was back in 10th position with only a handful of laps to go. Woods was given the Black Flag for intentionally spinning McGrath. Jeremy put his head down, took a deep breath and started picking trucks off one by one. The Loctite # 2 managed to work all the way back to fifth with 1 lap to go. As the white flag came out, so did the flat tire. Jeremy suffered a left rear flat on the last lap but managed to keep the position and finish the race in 5th place. The team had a tough day but managed to stay in the top 5 and in third for the overall points chase. The next 2 events take place in Salt Lake City UT on June 20 and 21.
